Director, Material and Electrode Development – Sweden
Responsible for leading the Material and Electrode Development organization, setting strategy, driving innovation, and delivering high‑quality projects aligned with company goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a roadmap for material and electrode development in line with product performance, sustainability, and cost‑efficiency objectives.
- Organize and lead a high‑performing team, establishing clear strategy and ensuring alignment with overall company strategy.
- Oversee and prioritize projects, ensuring on‑time, high‑quality delivery within budget and regulatory requirements.
- Mentor and grow a team of experts, fostering a collaborative, innovative culture.
- Act as a key spokesperson for the material and electrode function, communicating priorities to senior leadership.
- Stay informed on emerging trends, competing technologies, and regulatory changes in battery and energy storage industries.
- Ensure coordination with the cell development team to keep projects on track.
- Secure intellectual property and facilitate communication of technical requirements to customers.
Qualifications & Experience
- PhD or MSc in chemical engineering, electrochemistry, chemistry, materials science, or related field.
- 10+ years of practical experience in Li‑ion battery cell development and electrode/material development.
- Extensive experience with mass‑production scale material/process development and Li‑ion battery manufacturing.
- Experience working with multicultural environments and customers.
- Strong engineering background with managerial skill and proven technical excellence.
- Knowledge of intellectual property, including freedom‑to‑operate and filing/granting IP.
- Excellent English written and oral communication skills.
- Strong management and team‑leadership abilities, time‑management, and ability to work under high pressure and tight deadlines.
- Passion for purpose‑driven work and problem‑solving mindset.
