Overview
As Director IT & Digitalisation, you will drive digital transformation initiatives that maximise business value within Vattenfall’s Business Area Generation. You will ensure that our IT and Digitalisation strategy is aligned with overall business goals and delivered in a modern, data‑driven and business‑oriented way.
You will play a key role in shaping how digital capabilities enable performance, efficiency and long‑term competitiveness across the organisation.
In this role, you will also act as Business Information Officer (BIO), leading IT & Digitalisation governance and collaboration across the business area. You will represent Generation in Vattenfall Group’s BIO forum, working closely with senior leaders including the Group CIO.
You will report directly to the VP Business Control within Business Area Generation.
Key Responsibilities
Overall areas of responsibility:
- Define and implement the BAG IT & Digitalisation strategy
- Build, develop and lead the IT and digitalisation demand team, including recruitment, training, and skills development
- Develop and take responsibility for the IT & Digitalisation portfolio
- Partner with business leaders across the organisation to identify and implement digital solutions and new ways of working
- Act as sponsor and project owner for common IT & Digitalisation programs and projects
Qualifications
You are a strategic and results‑oriented leader who thrives in complex environments. You build strong partnerships and are skilled at translating business needs into clear digital strategies and solutions. With a strong drive and a hands‑on approach, you ensure that ideas are turned into tangible results. You are comfortable challenging existing ways of working and leading change, both in the short and long term. You communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and have the ability to engage, influence and create alignment at all levels of the organisation.
- A relevant academic university or higher education degree
- Extensive experience from senior roles within IT, either in business‑facing or supplier/vendor environments
- Strong experience in program and change management, turning strategy into implementation
- Experience working in large and complex organisations
- Experience of program‑ and change management with a focus on streamlining and digitalisation turning ideas into implementation
- Experience of working and collaborating within large, complex organisations
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage and influence various stakeholders across the organisation
- A strong understanding of business models and how digital solutions can create value for both customers and the business
- Deep knowledge of IT and information security and the role it plays within highly regulated businesses
- Deep understanding of enterprise architecture and IT systems within the area utility production
- Fluency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
