We are looking for a Software Development Lead to help shape the next chapter of our digital journey within our Tools division. This is a role for someone who enjoys combining technology, leadership, and business impact in a global and fast‑evolving environment.

You will play a key role in driving our software portfolio forward, strengthening our digital capabilities, and ensuring we build the right solutions that create real value for our sales teams, service organizations, and customers.

The Epiroc Tools division (RGD) develops, manufactures, markets, services, and provides digital solutions for rock drilling and ground support tools used in a wide range of applications within the mining and construction industries. The division also manages Epiroc’s aftermarket supply chain and operates production facilities and distribution centers across the globe.

Your mission

As Software Development Lead, you will play a central role in driving and coordinating the software development landscape within Tools. You will work closely with business stakeholders, application owners, development teams, and Epiroc IT to ensure that our digital solutions support business needs, create user value, and evolve in line with our long‑term ambitions.

The role combines technical understanding, stakeholder management, and operational leadership. You will help create structure, alignment, and momentum across a globally distributed set‑up while contributing to the continued development of our ways of working, platforms, and digital capabilities. You will also support the evolution of our global software delivery organization, with development teams primarily located in India and potential expansion into additional regions over time.

Key responsibilities

  • Drive and evolve the software development portfolio within Tools
  • Ensure digital initiatives are aligned with business priorities and create measurable value
  • Act as a key interface between business lines, application owners, engineering, and Epiroc IT
  • Lead portfolio planning, backlog alignment, and prioritization together with stakeholders
  • Establish and improve ways of working for globally distributed agile development teams
  • Ensure architectural direction, data strategy, and platform thinking support long‑term scalability and future AI‑driven capabilities
  • Contribute to scaling our global delivery model and strengthening collaboration across regions
  • Bring clarity, structure, and pace to execution while balancing short‑term delivery and long‑term direction
  • Facilitate discussions around architecture, integrations, security, and infrastructure together with IT and engineering teams

Your profile

We are looking for someone who has already taken steps into technical leadership and is now ready for a broader, more global, and cross‑functional role. You have a solid technical foundation and a strong interest in how software creates business value. You are comfortable navigating complex organizations, aligning multiple stakeholders, and navigating evolving priorities in complex environments.

We believe you bring

  • Experience from complex, multi‑stakeholder environments
  • Background in software development and/or technical leadership
  • Experience working with distributed or international engineering teams
  • Strong understanding of modern software architecture, APIs, and cloud‑based environments
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical direction and actionable plans
  • Experience collaborating closely with product, IT, and business stakeholders
  • Exposure to agile ways of working and modern DevOps practices
  • Academic background in a relevant field or equivalent experience

As a person, you bring energy, curiosity, and drive. You are pragmatic and delivery‑focused, while also being able to create trust, alignment, and momentum across teams and cultures.

You thrive in dynamic environments where priorities evolve, and where creating structure, alignment, and clarity comes naturally.
